Now Online Only from Feb. 2009
Because of the current financial situation in Australia and worldwide, coming on top of eight years of drought in the Forbes/Condobolin district we have decided it prudent to operate for the near future as an online gallery only.
We will still attend and bring art to different functions in the area and with less overheads hope to continue supplying quality art at a reasonable price. We will operate from our farming property at Condobolin.
We also have a few surprises up our sleeve for later in the year...watch this space!
For any questions please phone 02 6896 2248.

New exhibition date - New range of art supplies - Immortalize a favourite photo..
We have decided to postpone our Wiradjuri exhibition until November 6th 2008. With a sudden influx of new artists we decided more time is needed to incorporate their works, and to correctly advertise. Keep an eye on here for dates and times.
Beginning in March we will be proudly stocking the full range of Art Spectrum oils, watercolours, pastels, brushes and other art supplies. We will also have in stock the full range of Mattisse acrylics from Vynol Derivan, and a selection of watercolours from Windsor Newton.
We now offer a new service from two very talented artists from Sydney and Victoria, of commissioning portraits of a loved one, a favourite landscape, horse, pet, even your ute, car or motorbike! The artists (one of who was an entrant in the 2006 Archibald Prize) will maintain contact throughout the process to ensure the finished work is flawless. Please contact us for more details.

Wiradjuri exhibition 2008
In March 2008 we are hoping to stage an "Introduction to Wiradjuri Art" exhibition, displaying works from some of Central NSW's finest contemporary Wiradjuri artists.
Largely unrecognised, or considered urban art, Wiradjuri art is historically fine and detailed, particularly from the more easterly regions.
They were also known for making high quality possum skin cloaks, such cloaks were presented to colonial Governers and English royalty.
The fine brushwork and attention to detail is what distinguishes Wiradjuri art from other regions of Australia.
We are also in the process of introducing a new photogaphy section. The beauty of photography is capturing a moment in time - many of the world's most powerful images from the past still have an impact on the viewer, they are timeless history. Gallery Opens
The Forbes Art Gallery opened it's doors on the 30th September 2006. Enjoying the large diversity of works, and delicious red and white varieties of wine from the local Sand Hills Vineyard, were a vibrant group of art lovers and friends from the Forbes/Condobolin district. With a visit and support from the Forbes mayor Rhonda Keane and Condobolin Council's General Manager and his wife Roger and Nat Bailey, we were both touched and a little awed by the support shown to our new venture.
Several artists have already approached us with a view to displaying and selling their work. We are trying to accomodate the best of those as soon as possible and they will appear on the website shortly. We are foremost a gallery of very fine and investment art so our standards are high. We are also looking for more sculpture, fine woodwork and glass art to exhibit so contact us if you feel you'd enjoy another outlet for your work.
Forbes High School students have held three exhibitions during November and December. The quality and depth of work has been extraordinary, with some works going on to regional and state competitions.
Ashleigh Davis displayed a moving series of charcoal drawings of starving children from Niger. Kellie Barnes displayed three ceramic sculptures called "Birds of Prey", based on The Raven by Edgar Allen Poe.
Well done to all the kids.
So welcome to the Forbes Art Gallery on the Lachlan River. Reward yourself - wisely." Get a bit of art in your life".
